Over £900 was raised and the organising committee are definately going to run an even bigger and better event next year.

As for the vicar scarecrow… she is now in the garage awaiting her next engagement….

  1. The scarecrow festival was certainly a “first” for the village and I found it useful having a list of sites so i got the most out of it. I enjoyed the sporty ones – a goalie and a golfer – and the ones that would appeal to children – Thomas the Tank Engine and Postman Pat. Well done the organisers but I wonder if the festival could form part of all the effort that goes into Paxfest, the annual village fayre. It would really make a splendid and different day out for people with many scarecrow sites round the village and the playing field full of varied activities.

  2. We all wish you intrepid night hawks a peacful “sleepover” in Gt Paxton church on Friday night. Make sure the bugs don’t bite! Or did I tell you about that tarantula that escaped when I was showing it to the church warden? Well, you might not find it but it could find you.

All strength to your elbows – and what a fetching picture!
