Just another weblog

Its actually very pleasant sitting in the grounds of Cambridge Crematorium on a sunny afternoon waiting to take a funeral service and eating some pringles ( just a touch of comfort food for the task ahead)

I invariably get nervous beforehand but once the service gets going, I settle down and find the whole thing a great privilege to do. I well remmeber what it is like to be on the receiving end of a funeral service and I like to take as much time as is practicable to honour the life of the person who has died and commend the Christian Gospel in a gentle way:

Heres a little prayer/verse I often use:

God our creator,

At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter

At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring

May we remember N

At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer

At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn

May we remember N

At the rising of the sun and at its  setting may we remember him/her
