Paxtonvic’s Blog

Just another weblog

Number of views

Obviously in times when the news is often rather sobering, blogs which carry pictures of wackey ceramic art are cheering people up – Ive had a fantabulous number of views on the previous blog and Im wondering now about workshops on ceramic ( a more polite word than toilet) art and graffiti. I know you can get  seats with all sort of   patterns on them – even a sort of under  the sea theme – but to design your own – that could really take off. Thanks Dennis and Sheila for alerting me to this work of art some weeks ago!

Ah, my dear grandfather Arthur Leonard Richings, who I never really knew, was a Sanitary Engineer/plumber  in Oxford who in the early to mid 1900”s in Oxford used to supply some of the colleges with fine loos. He had a premises off Walton Steet ( long since gone) and in the days when few homes had indoor facilities I like to think he helped the cause of improving sanitation in the city. He was also a member of the Salvation Army – so the care of body, mind and spirit  all go together.
