Exclusive! New loo flushes at Diddington after 900 years

Yes, Paxtonvic can faithfully report that that today, September 10th, the new loo at Dddington officially was connected and now flushes. I snook in in the early evening and had a look for myself – and pressed down the magic flush and yes the wtaer flowed! Joyous! I even tried the hand wash basin and the water flowed too. But as there wasnt a lock on the door and I hadn’t had permission, I daren’t try it all out for real yet! A chap turned up from the Isle of Wight to look round – so its a good thing that I trusted my instinct!

Genuine running water!

I love being in the church when the sun is  setting – the light on the furnishings is lovely and subtle, not least on the flemish glass in the south chapel. So, here are some more photos.

The new floor in the south chapel, free now of pews( apart from the ones along the edge)  and an east screen giving it open flexible space.

Time to go home…..

St Laurence has been much loved and given a new start these last weeks – we look forward to giving thanks for all that has been achieved at a service of Dedication with Bishop David on Tuesday September 29th at 6pm – everyone is welcome.

  2. There was a ps. to my comment above; and that was, how wonderful the new floor looks too in the south aisle.
You can have post Compline tea-dances; how sublime.

“Preserve us O Lord while waltzing, and guard us while quickstepping, that awake we may watch with Christ and sitting-one-out we may rest in peace”.
