Cant resist a bit of digging in the churchyard

churchyard disrupted - oct 8th 09

Here is the north side of Little Paxton Churchyard being somewhat disrupted as the new drainage system is put in place. As visitors to the church will know, there is consdierable damp on the innner walls and we hope that improving the drainage with new soakaways and rain water goods will help the walls to dry out.

A new drainage pipe leading away from the church wall on the south side.

The work is being carried out by Pinnocks and over seen by our architect Jerry Lander.

After this has been completed, our CHUFT  appeal at Little Paxton will get going in earnest with its launch on Sunday October 25th at 9.15am. CHUFT stands for Church For Tomorrow and includes a new heating system and seating, re-hanging the bells and creating a new vestry/meeting area under thenew ringer’s floor. A building fit for  purpose as churches up and down the country are adapting their layouts and facilities to welcome more people and offer a greater variety of activities.
