Floods in St Neots and Little Paxton

Here is a picture of the flooding in Riverside Park today, Macrh 1st. If you click on the picture, you should get a bigger version which is rather good.

Its great for the ducks.

Somehwhere in there is a nice bench to eat sandwiches on – but maybe not today!

When the Great Ouse bursts its banks, often Mill Lane in Little Paxton is flooded which means no one in a car can travel from  Little Paxton to St Neots without going up onto the A1. Lots of other people do the same which means some congested traffic at peak times. When ever  Mill Lane floods  there are pleas from locals that something should be done about the situation ( Im not sure what can be done – raising up the road would be very costly) so I think its something we have to live with.
