Little Paxton Open Gardens – June 26th 2011

Anyone coming across this site and looking for Open Gardens in the St Neots area  will find a warm welcome in Little Paxton Village on Sunday June 26th.

16 gardens – all different and lovely in their own unique way, will be open – some from 11.00am and most until 5pm or 6pm.

Admission to all gardens is by programme £5.00 – they are available at Little Paxton Post Office – or the first garden you visit. Accompanied children are free.

The Vicarage Garden will be open from 12 noon until 6pm and at c 5pm  the charming  local dance group” “Heartsease” will be dancing at the front of the Vicrage Garden for anyone who would like to come and enjoy them. Ploughmans  lunches will be served from the Vicarage kitchen from c 12pm onwards.

All the houses with their gardens open will have balloons outside and if you go to:

you will find details of all the locations of the gardens.

All proceeds to the Little Paxton ” Church For Tomorrow Appeal”.

Here is an up to date picture from my back garden – everything  is looking very pretty and not too parched!

I like the many varieties of geraniums that are around now and the above picture is of Geranium p. ” Summer Skies”

The flowers of double rosettes  are a  gorgeous pink colour and it is described on its label as a new cottage garden ” Crane’s Bill”. It promises flowers for many summer weeks and it is certainly living up to its name.

It comes from Blooms of Bressingham ( Im not getting any commission to write this!)

PS – well done to Pauline and family who raised c £370.00 last Saturday at their Open Garden Railway day… over 100 people came and enjoyed the lovely railway – thnks everyone for all their hard work!
