Diddington Village Fete – June 25th 2011 – Be there!

Diddington Village Fete

Saturday 25th June 2-5pm.

The little village of Diddington ( with a population of no more than c 80 people) is hosting an ambitious fete next Saurday. To co-incide with the fete there will be a historical exhibition in the village hall. This will include the 49th American Field  Hosiptal during  WW2 and the Polish resettlement camp.

The make-up of tiny Diddington changed dramatically during  WW2 and  Dave Dodman who has carried out a large amount of research on this era has  sourced many old photographs for the exhibition. It is hoped a representataive from the Polish Embasy will be coming. Dave has also found the names of the 1,000 plus Polish children who were born on the site.

The history of the school will also be featured and it presents  a great opportunity to find out more about this unqiue little part of Cambridgeshire.

The Fete will feature also the Fenland Light Railway, a craft marquee, estate tours and lots of traditional stalls.

Proceeds will be going toward the Village Hall upkeep.

Diddington is directly off the A1 between Buckden and St Neots.
