Serious cleaning at Little Paxton Church

Saturday December 10th saw a morning long clean up after the near completion of the works to the tower. A large number of willing volunteers turned out armed with all the right kit to  get the dust and grim off the floor and pews… amazing how much mess  builders dust can make. Here are the merry band.

( The old pew wont always be in that position by the screen)

Meanwhile, brave souls outside in the cold wind putting up the Christmas lights.

And now the clock is working and striking gently on the hour. The clock striking bell is one of our original bells cast in 1713 by Thomas Newman and inscribed ” Will Heading CHW.” It is a virgin bell, in that it has never been retuned. So, the sound we hear now is the same as that heard in 1713.

We are all ready now for the concert with the Aragon Singers starting at 5pm today ( Sunday December 11th)
